There is something quite special about the color purple. It is both calm and expressive – which is exactly why I return to amethyst again and again when I design.
Amethyst – a gemstone with history
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz, and its color can range from light lavender to deep violet. The name comes from the Greek amethystos, which means "not intoxicated" – the ancient Greeks believed that the gemstone could protect against intoxication. Amethyst is also the birthstone for February, and in the Middle Ages, it was seen as a symbol of royalty.
If you would like to read more about the symbolism of the gemstone, you can find my post Fantastic calming amethysts.
Here are five of my favorite designs featuring amethyst – from a brand new one-of-a-kind piece to a ring you can wear every day.
PURPLE SPLASH – my new one-of-a-kind piece in a play of purple colors
PURPLE SPLASH is brand new and one of my unique designs – there is only one. The 110 cm long necklace brings together amethyst with mother of pearl, freshwater pearls, green onyx, carnelian, and rose quartz, so the purple shades meet green and warm tones in a vibrant play of colors.
How to style it: Wear it long over a simple knit sweater or a black dress, or wrap it twice around your neck for a more collected look. Each one-of-a-kind design comes with a personal greeting from me.

Enchanted – romance with sparkling details
My Enchanted earrings are drop-shaped with a large amethyst surrounded by small white topazes in 24kt gold-plated sterling silver. The white gemstones make the amethyst stand out even more.
How to style them: Wear your hair up so the earrings get all the attention – they are beautiful for both dinner and parties. They can also be combined with the other jewelry in the ENCHANTED collection.

Noble Cube Purple – amethyst meets diamonds
In Noble Cube Purple, a square, facet-cut amethyst is surrounded by small diamonds (0.28 ct, single-cut). The frame is made of black oxidized sterling silver, while the small prongs on the corners of the amethyst and the large pendant are in 14-karat gold. The contrast between the dark silver, the gold, and the purple gemstone provides a modern and slightly edgy look.
How to style it: Choose the short length for an open shirt collar, or the long one as an eye-catcher over a black turtleneck. The necklace is available in 44, 54, 67, and 79 cm, and the diamond jewelry comes with a certificate.
Price: from DKK 6,999

Lovebeads – color around the wrist
The Lovebeads bracelet is made of facet-cut purple amethysts that catch the light every time you move your hand.
How to style it: Wear it alone for everyday use, or stack it with other bracelets and a gold watch for a personal arm stack.

Cabo Big – a statement ring
Cabo Big is a large, round ring with a cabochon-cut amethyst – a smooth, domed cut that showcases the deep color of the gemstone rather than sparkle. The edge in 24-karat gold-plated sterling silver provides an elegant and warm look.
How to style it: Let it be the only ring on your hand, or wear it together with the Lovebeads bracelet so the purple tones are echoed.

My best tips for styling amethyst
- Gold makes the color warm: 24kt gold-plated silver makes the purple shades glow.
- Black silver adds edge: The dark metal gives the amethyst a more modern look.
- Purple loves neutral colors: Cream, gray, camel, and black let the gemstone shine.
- Don't be afraid to combine: Amethyst is beautiful together with green onyx, rose quartz, and pearls.
